Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare classroom to support a developmentally appropriate curriculum by setting up, changing, and maintaining both indoor and outdoor environment.
  • Assess individual and group needs while attending to special needs, specific interests, strengths, and concerns of the children.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans.
  • Observe and record observations in conjunction with developing children’s individual goals, objectives, and outcomes.
  • Follow consistent daily schedules, which include individual activities, small and large group activities, and child choice times.
  • Work with early intervention or appropriate agencies to develop specialized plans for children and families, as needed.
  • Maintain accurate written records, including but not limited to child assessments, lesson plans, and other required forms.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding staff, children, and families.

Education:

  • Associate in Arts or Bachelor of Arts in early childhood education.
  • Currently pursuing an AA or BA in early childhood education.
  • Willing to continue course work in early childhood state scholarship program.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in related field
